Who Dr. Lal treats
Dr. Lal cares for adults with chronic kidney disease, hard-to-control blood pressure, repeat kidney stones, protein in the urine, and other kidney problems. Many of his patients also live with diabetes — his research year at the University of Maryland focused on diabetes and obesity, two of the biggest causes of kidney disease.
His path to Texoma
Dr. Lal trained at some of the most respected medical centers in the country. During his nephrology fellowship at the University of Texas, his teachers honored him as the Most Distinguished Fellow. He went on to care for complex patients at Baylor Medical Center and at MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, where kidney care often means protecting patients through cancer treatment.
He opened Texoma Nephrology & Hypertension Clinic so people in Denison, Durant, and the surrounding towns would not have to drive to Dallas for that level of care.
Why he does this work
Kidney disease is usually silent. Most people feel fine until the disease is far along — and then everything happens at once. Dr. Lal believes the best kidney care starts early, moves slowly, and is explained in plain words.
"My job is to protect the kidney function you still have," he tells patients, "and to make sure you understand every choice along the way."

How we care for you
Time to talk
Your visit is not rushed. You'll leave knowing what your numbers mean and what happens next.

No jargon without an explanation. If a word is confusing, we'll say it another way.
Close to home
Two offices — Denison, TX and Durant, OK — plus telehealth visits when travel is hard.
Early is better
We'd rather see you at stage 2 than stage 4. Catching kidney disease early gives you more options.
Team player
We work closely with your family doctor and send them a report after every visit. Referring providers, start here.
Whole person
Kidneys, blood pressure, diabetes, and heart health are connected. We treat you, not just a lab value.
